Camping
Stormsvlei Camping is situated on the banks of the Sonderend River on the farm Avontuur .
The campsite is set in a peaceful countryside setting and is suited to couples, families, friends, and groups seeking a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.
A total of 22 spacious campsites are available across 3 camping areas – River Edge, Archer’s and Mountain View.
Some campsites are situated alongside the river and others a bit further away, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and river.
River Edge camping area has 7 campsites along the river banks. Campsites are spacious (10 m x 10 m) with additional parking available next to your site.
River Edge camping has beautiful views towards the Sonderend river, vlei and surrounding natural forest.
Archer’s camping area comprises 8 spacious campsites measuring 20 m x 10 m. The area is partially situated along the river edge and conveniently located near the ablution block. Guests can enjoy beautiful views of the river, vlei and surrounding mountains.
Mountain View camping area has 7 campsites with 6 sites sized 10 m x 10 m plus additional parking next to your site. The 7th site sized 6m x 20m. Mountain view campsites are a bit further away from the river (50 m) but with beautiful views overlooking the Sonderend mountains and vlei.
Campsites are suitable for tents, caravans, 4 x 4 trailers and vehicles. Each campsite is equipped with an electrical power point and water tap. Parking is available at the campsites. There is ample ablution facilities with hot water. Showers feature large windows overlooking the surrounding scenery.
A range of activities can be enjoyed on the farm, including swimming, fishing, canoeing, bird watching, hiking and cycling.
Access is available to the river and surrounding forest, with a family-friendly hiking trail along the river and mountain.
Tyre inner tubes are available for floating on the river and guests are welcome to bring their own rowing boats, canoes or other non-motorised floating devices.
A golf gong shot challenge, Jacuzzi and hot tub are also available.
Stormsvlei Venue is available for larger groups to enjoy social gatherings and braais.
